Phones are phones. They should not have Cameras on them unless they come with lessons or maybe some sort of LICENSING agreement!
If you have a phone with a camera, [which is actually just a spy/ tracking device with phone and text privileges, as long as you pay for it] would it be too much to ask that you hold the phone horizontally to record videos!? Is that too much to ask in a civilized world!?
With Great Power comes Great Responsibility! I'm sure I speak on behalf of most of the people in the world who have enjoyed HORIZONTAL MOVING IMAGES over ages upon ages. Was Ben Hur recorded vertically? No. Was Citizen Cane recorded Vertically? No! Was Stanley Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange recorded vertically? NO! In fact was ANY movie recorded vertically!!??? NO! So STOP DOING IT! Your frame does not fit in any other box!
If it’s just for a 3/4 length STILL PORTRAIT picture, I’m gonna let it slide but under no circumstances FOR VIDEO!
THIS is a MOTION PICTURE Camera. Notice how the frame is HORIZONTAL NOT VERTICAL.
When people talk of the "vast expanse" they motion their arms out horizontally! Not Vertically!
When we talk about the HORIZON, we talk in HORIZONTAL Terms, not "vertical".

I couldn’t count the amount of times I’ve had to take other people’s videos into my own editing software, expand the video so it fits a standard 16:9 (at least) aspect ratio, cropping out the erroneous black wasted space at the top and bottom of the (e’hem) “VERTICAL video! They spend $1,000’s of dollars on the latest iPhone with 10k resolution shooting 300fps and yet they hold the phone vertically!?
I’m sure Bill Gates, Pfizer, Murder-na, Astra-Zselnika, has a PILL or an INJECTION one could take to counter the urge to hold one’s phone vertically while recording something.
I’m gonna take up a petition asking Klaus Schwab’s New World Order to ban all social media platforms from allow vertical videos in a horizontal spaces!
Maybe phone makers should not be permitted to produce “phones” that could produce such blasphemous bastardization of God’s natural landscapes here on Flat, Horizontal Earth!
Please friends, don't let friends record videos vertically in this HORIZONTAL World!
