Update
George Orwell was the author of "1984"
H.G. Wells wrote "War of the worlds" and "Men like gods"
thanks for the correction “Mad Plaid Lad”
Nineteen Eighty-Four - Wikipedia
a movie about “1984” was made in 1983 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four_(1984_film)
https://ok.ru/video/271214971645 (110 minutes)
At 16 minutes in the movie, they are eating in a cafeteria setting. One guy points out that “there is not one bit of meat in it” (their bowl). I find this interesting being in a movie that was made from a book published in 1949.
at 20 minutes they mention “Thought Police”
throughout the movie they talk about the obsolescence of the “orgasm” and the abolishment of “family”. They say the orgasm will lead to bad thoughts which is dealt with by “Thought Police”
HG Wells also wrote “the “Time Machine” and “the Invisible Man” to mention a few. More here.
HG Wells is not to be confused with Orson Wells who produced “War of the Worlds” (as a movie) Citizen Kane and some others.
Then we have George Orwell who wrote War of the Worlds”
wow it’s all getting confusing to me.
