Average Gas Bill Ontario Canada

This is an arbitrary average gas bill for an average size subdivision home in Ontario Canada. And it hasn't even been that cold yet this season!

There are only two natural gas appliances in the house. A 2 stage, High Efficient Gas furnace and hot water tank, both under 5 years old. This is the bill for ONE MONTH.

The house is 2 story, aprox 1800sf with more insulation in the roof that building code requires.

Although the cost of gas has quadrupled recently, you can see that 61% of the bill is “OTHER CHARGES” You can see Trudeau’s “carbon tax” in there which will help the environment by paying more taxes right? How about he doesn’t fly his fleet of corporate jets 100’s of 1000s of miles per year? How about he doesn’t use a motorcade of 35 vehicles to go to the gay pride parades? How about if he would just be happy eating Crickets?

On top of that, you can see HST (HARMONIZED Sales Tax) is calculated ON THE TOTHER TAXES! So Ontario residence are paying TAXED ON TAXES!

What other business can charge these extras?

Let’s talk about the “OTHER Charges”. What other business can charge these extras? Let’s take the real estate profession for example. How about if I were a real estate broker, how would this go over if I told the client;

“ok your commission to sell your house is 6% but there’s also a cost to be my client (Customer charge) then there’s a charge to GET MY ASS OUT OF BED AND OVER TO YOUR HOUSE (Delivery to you)

Then there’s a cost to GET MY ASS BACK TO THE OFFICE TO DO YOUR PAPERWORK (Transportation to Enbridge)

Then my Broker’s gonna CHARGE YOUR ASS FOR TAKING UP HIS TIME (Federal Carbon Charge - Note they call it CHARGE not TAX!??)

Then there’s the actual COST OF DOING BUSINESS WITH ME (6%) (Cost of gas- Line 5)

Then there’s a COST ADJUSTMENT because we THOUGHT we could do it for 6% but your’s was a HARD SELL so we had to add this (cost adjustment - line 6)

That brings your ACTUAL COST OF DOING BUSINESS WITH ME up to (whatever percent that works out to) (Charges for natural Gas - line 7)

Then on the above costs, we’re gonna TAX YOUR ASS A FURTHER 13% with our “HARMONIZED SALES TAX” harmonized because first there was SALES tax on physical items, then there was SERVICE tax on labour, which sometimes was charged but not always, then they decided to WORK IN HARMONY Now everything is called “SALES TAX” even if its a service. (line 8)

Other charges, just because! Why do you ask so many questions!? (line 9)

Then there’s a rate adjustment because we had to estimate your commission rate remember? well now we’re charging you for that estimation (line 10)

Then theres HST on our rate adjustment because the mafia government always gets their cut right? aka (TAX ON TAX) line 11

So that brings our “EXTRA CHARGES ON YOUR ASS” up to xxx

So therefore your total bill is XXXXXXX (line 13)

How do you think this would go over with a client if a real estate broker charged like this? How do you think the COURTS would look at this?

Oh but the GAS CO. has all this “infrastructure” to deal with” right?

What about the construction company that builds houses? Do they get to charge extra maintain of their bulldozers, trucks, tools, equipment, cost of getting those machines to the site and moving them around after? Maybe build all that into the price of new homes?

The Gas company is ALREADY making HUGE profits on their product which is gas! A NORMAL company would deduct maintenance and infrastructure costs from the profit. Instead the CEOs make MILLIONS PER YEAR! Not ONE TIME, PER YEAR!

All these “Extra costs” that the gas company is charging IS THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS!

Then they blame “we the people” for using too much gas!? Got NOTHING to do with gas use! It’s all their “extra costs”

Surely this is illegal? With most businesses, if you don’t like their price, you can go somewhere else but when there’s one gas company? How do you even have a choice?

What if the real estate broker above said, “this is what you have to pay and you don’t have a choice” You can’t go anywhere else?
